It turned out to be a scorcher of a day on Sunday. Thom was cutting trees like a pro on hole 14 while I was the workhorse, dragging everything off the fairway. Russ came out in the afternoon and cut some much needed trimming done on holes 6, 7 and 8.
That leaves a lot of work still to be done. I plan on being out on Monday the 5th in the morning. Feel free to join me if you can. Don’t be shy about course clean up, it’s pretty obvious what needs done, go ahead and do it if you have the time. Even picking up dead sticks or dragging some limbs off the fairways while you play is a big help. Everyone enjoys playing a well maintained course, and it takes a concerted effort to have such a course.

The Harvest is fast approaching. In addition to the physical labor we need there is also the task of raising sponsorship. Sponsorship allows us to put on a quality event with things like lunch and player’s packs. If weed whacking and dragging trees isn’t your thing, maybe calling local businesses is? Print out the letter and drop it on your bosses desk. Take it with you to your favorite lunch spot. Maybe your Aunt or Grandma will throw you a few bucks. Every little bit helps.
I am pleased to say that we are fortunate to have Martin’s Famous Pasty Shoppe supporting us again this year. It’s easy to be a fan of Martin’s, their rolls are delicious. Visit their website, drop them a line and let them know your next burger will be on a Martin’s Famous Potato Roll because they support disc golf!
On a personal note, I was able to play a round at Wilson College this afternoon and managed to hit an ace on hole 2. Yup, beat Roc hyzer right over my wife and daughters heads.

I’ll see ya on the course!
