Hope everyone had a spectacular Independence Day, I know I did. Plenty of heat to go around. Nobody emailed me or uploaded scores, so I am going to assume that no one played on Sunday and everyone was enjoying the festivities and trying to stay cool.
Staying cool was definitely not on the agenda for Monday.
Thom, Nick, Boger, Pops Lescalleet and my cousin Joey all came out to tackle the list of course work. And tackle we did. Nick was weed whacking up and down holes 2, 3 6 and 7. Boger was whacking weeds on 3′s hillside, 7 and anywhere else he could find weeds. Thom made short work of the down tree on 2 and sliced and diced the brush/tree pile at the end of Sneaky Pete on hole 4. Pops, Joey and I lugged away said tree pile, as well as opened up 6′s B fairway and got rid of half the down tree, cut and moved the down tree on 8 (which attacked me), cleaned up 9′s A pin, trimmed up 15′s pin (the tree is still there, Matt) and opened the fence in front of 17′s short pad. Definitely a successful work day! Our list is dwindling down.
Dick Gogin was out on Wednesday I believe and re leveled and barricaded 3′s tee pad with a section of a downed tree. Thumbs up, Dick!
Here’s the must do items:
5: make small walkway from tee to A pin through hillside (not necessarily a priority, just a quick walk through with a weed whacker should do the trick) 7: clean up left side of tee and directly in front
8: weed whack both edges of the fairway
9: weed whack both edges of the fairway
10: weed whack hillside and A pin
13: weed whack left side of the fairway, push back down trees 15: weed whack fairway/pin area
I’ll be trying to get to the course by 12:00-12:30 on Sundays and doing as much work as I can before tee, or just working through, depending on my mood. Feel free to tackle any work list items at your own convenience as well.
See ya on the course!
