“One bad round is an aberration. Two in a row is the beginning of a downward trend. Not pretty.” -Shooby
Nobody came out to play on Father’s Day so I didn’t get any points. I did manage to almost lose two rollers, so I have that going for me.
Pops and I met with some Park representatives on Monday to discuss a few new pin placements due to increased park traffic and construction. Hole 11 will be sporting a new A “Summer” position, short of the gully and on the right side of the driveway. Hopefully this will alleviate any interference with most of the park patrons that are out enjoying the beautiful Conococheague. Hole 16 will also be getting a new A pin to widen the gap between our green and the new pavilion. We’re looking at basically the same line, just about 60ft or so short and slightly right. And the masses rejoiced… As always, keep an eye open for other park patrons that may not know we are out there. Pedestrians always get the right of way, be courteous, and explain what we’re doing. You never know, you may turn somebody new onto the sport.
This past Sunday was a pleasantly overcast day with little to no wind for a change. Quite unFallslike. No record breaking scores, nothing real impressive at all unfortunately. Wayne canned a long birdie but on 6 from the fairway. I missed a 10fter for bird on 18. Brad: 64
Wayne: 66
Thom: 88
Saturday July 9th is the Crawdad Cooker, PDGA C-Tier at Creekside. Anybody interested in going?
The Harvest is creeping up on us. We have a pretty solid sponsorship base, but where some is good, more is better. There’s also plenty of weed whacking and small trimming that needs attention. If you find yourself with some free time jump on in. We’ll also be needing some hands on assistance day of, so even if you’re not planning on playing (which you should be) come on out for a few hours and get your hands dirty.
We’ve also been asked to have a presence at the Antrim Township Community Park Open House on Saturday September 24th. It’s a little ways off, and I really don’t have any details yet, but pt it on your calender. We’ll more than likely be doing some demos and showing interested people about the game we all love.
***Rules question of the week: Email your correct answer to me and get an extra point in the Sunday Devotional League.
A competitor’s tee shot lands 20 feet up in a tree that is fully in bounds. As he is promptly walking to the tree, the disc falls to the ground. However, at least four minutes have elapsed since the disc came to rest in the tree. What is the ruling?
A) One throw penalty, 2-meter rule violation since that is where the disc came to rest. B) Play the disc from where it lies, no penalty.
C) Play the disc from where it lies, but with a one throw penalty since the disc was up in the tree longer than the allowed 3 minute search time.
D) Play the disc from a point directly underneath the tree, where the disc originally came to rest, no penalty. E) Re-tee, add one penalty throw.
See ya on the course!
