Been a long time since I sent out an email, apologies to those that missed it. And apologies to those that never read it and now have another piece of junk in their inbox.

Sunday was a beautiful day to be in the woods throwing plastic, and there were 10 of us doing just that.

Dick played a solid 1/3 of a round with grandson Brennan in tow until the call of nature pulled them away. Brennan was throwing some solid shots with a full weight Surge; get some ultralights in his hands and that kid could be a contender!

No stellar rounds were turned in, I can say for certain that our card was scrambling most of the time. Becker, Dick and I did all card birdies on 4A, and I took a birdie 3 on 11B which concludes our highlight reel. Nordberg got the lone birdie on 5A, and Nick canned a 90′er to save par on 14B. Way to Focus Nick! The Indian’s card came in with a lot of solid bogey golf and war stories of chastity belt shutouts. All three managed to card the 3 on the daunting 18B.

See ya on the course!

The Conococheague’s edges were almost back in there normal place and the sun was shining bright for a warm Sunday afternoon. Nine golfers came out to battle with the Falls, including our newest tag member and three long lost friends! Matt Brucksch has been a regular of the Sunday crowd for a little while now and joined in at tag 24.
There was definitely some rust getting knocked off out there in the woods, but a few solid rounds were recorded, including a new personal best!

Four hardy golfers made it out in damp conditions on Sunday. We only got rained on for about 3 holes; it magically stopped as soon as I opened my umbrella.
Bryce took the lone birdie on the front 9 with a nice drive on 5A. After chaining out at least 8 birdie putts I finally got one to stick on 17Short to A.

First Thanks to all who attended this event. Not only was it a beautiful day for disc golf but we were able to raise over $300 for the Greencastle Presbyterian Church Food Bank. So Thank you all very much.

Our expectations on turnout out were a bit low and therefore were pleasantly surprised that nearly 40 teams made it out to play. Thank you once again to the Lescalleet family for their donations of time and money to Whispering Falls and the events held there. Lunch was great and the tourney was a great success. Special Thanks to the 717FDC for the continuing efforts to keep the course one of the best around. Papa Lescalleet and Tim “Splinter” Lescalleet for running the show. 1 02 2010

It’s been some time since an update/recap was sent out, my apologies. Scores from the past weeks have been added to dgscene database though. Yesterday was a chilly and soggy round for 3 golfers. One almost tied his personal best in the adverse conditions.

We have a visual reference for the path we walked; or rather the path Nick’s bag took since his phone was doing the tracking.
A total of 2.5 miles, starting and stopping at number 1′s tee.

My personal highlight was nailing this putt to save par:

Thomas was on fire for the front nine, carding a solid 39. If his forehand game was a little longer he’d have easily shaved 3-4 strokes off that.
I’m sure you can tell from the pose that greatness followed:

Nick played fairly consistent throughout, but was plagued by OB on the finishing two holes.
Here you can see the elusive Krawczak in his natural habitat:

Totals:
Brad……..2…63…2
Thom….22…80…22
Nick……23…90…23

I highly doubt anyone will be in attendance next week dues to the football ceremonies taking place. However, if anyone plays, post the scores.

Mark your calenders! Saturday March 6th, 3rd Annual Whispering falls Freeze charity disc golf tournament. This year’s format is doubles, bring your own partner (or we can pair up singles that morning). We will be donating all proceeds to the Greencastle Presbyterian Church food bank which supports those less fortunate in our own community. More details to follow.

Hopefully we meet out there on the course!

1 12 2009

Unseasonably warm weather brought out a large crowd. Included in this crowd was the return of the one and only putting machine named Briscoe. He road in like a knight on a white steed and proceeded to drop bombs from all over the course. It was uncanny, you would never have guessed he hasn’t played in 4 months…
Fred played with a hurt back, knowing full well he’d lose his hard fought for number 2 tag. May to take one for the team Fred. And we had a return guest, Logan, on the hunt for an elusive creature you sometimes see on the golf course. It has feathers, and flies around without a care in the world. Maybe some of you have seen one?

Highlights:
Brad and Dave birdie 3A
Russ birdies 6A
Dan Marshall, Corey, Becker par 9B
Brad birdies 10B
Brad birdies 17A

Circles abounded this round. Every card had at least one, but the lowlight of the week goes to Corey Duesler. Triple-circle 8 on 17A. He landed in the parking lot, the
OB pond, and the OB wetlands. And I hate to point out the obvious Corey, but if you could have just kept that to 1 circle you would have beat Codey and could have rid yourself of that 12 tag you seem to love so much…
